I am writing to express my strong opposition to any proposed budget cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. As Congress considers upcoming budget proposals, I urge you to protect these essential programs that serve as a lifeline for millions of Americans. Medicare and Medicaid are not just budget items—they are fundamental pillars of our health care system. Cuts to these programs would put seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income families at risk of losing access to vital medical services, medications, and long-term care. Reducing funding now would be shortsighted and harmful, potentially increasing costs elsewhere in the health system due to untreated or worsened health conditions. Instead of balancing the budget on the backs of the most vulnerable, I encourage you to pursue more responsible and equitable approaches to fiscal policy that preserve the integrity of Medicare and Medicaid. These programs are a promise we’ve made to generations of Americans, and that promise must be kept. Please stand with your constituents and oppose any budget that includes cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. Thank you for your service and your attention to this critical issue.
