The Trump Administration Destroyed & Altered Taxpayer Funded Research

To: Sen. Scott, Sen. Graham Nordone, Rep. Wilson

From: A verified voter in North Augusta, SC

August 20

A new Guardian analysis found that the Trump administration has deleted or altered hundreds of federal datasets, including major health datasets used to track disease, overdose, violence, and health disparities. Public health depends on reliable surveillance. Researchers, physicians, and policymakers cannot respond to problems they can no longer accurately measure. Governments should be free to change policy. They should not be free to make inconvenient evidence disappear. Science requires transparency. Additionally, This data collection was paid for by tax dollars. A single administration has no right to destroy the data we paid to collect. This should be considered theft from the American people.
