Vote yes on S. 4214, the moratorium on new AI data centers. These facilities are consuming electricity and water at a scale our communities were never built to handle, and approving more of them before we have real safeguards in place is reckless. The burden falls on local residents and ratepayers, not the corporations profiting from the buildout. S. 4214 gives us the time to assess the actual infrastructure costs, environmental impact, and grid strain before locking in decades of consequences. Other jurisdictions are already pumping the brakes for exactly these reasons. This is the moment to act, not after the damage is done. Vote yes.
