In an Oval Office meeting with President Zelenskyy intended to coordinate a peace plan, Trump and Vance threatened to abandon Ukraine altogether and repeatedly insulted Zelenskyy. Trump and Vance went on to criticize Zelenskyy for being “disrespectful” and not thanking the U.S. enough for our support of Ukraine. Trump then abruptly ended the meeting, asked all Ukrainian officials to leave, and canceled a signing ceremony for a deal on rare minerals. Trump’s obvious performative “strong man” act is further endangering the Ukrainian people and European security while handing Vladimir Putin a gift. I’m writing to demand that you, my representative in Congress, pressure the Trump administration to re-engage with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and commit to security guarantees for our ally. Trump’s pro-Putin stance against Ukraine is disturbing, suspicious, and not aligned with American values. I urge you to vocally and legislatively support Ukraine at every opportunity.
