Please vote NO to the SAVE Act. Not only does this legislation disenfranchise women, it disenfranchises voters from overseas, including members of our military. Because this legislation requires that an individual overseas return to the United States to their local election office and present their citizenship proof ON PERSONA for every single election. That would make it virtually impossible for people like me to go back to the United States every single election - not only is it financially challenging to afford trips back to the United States from overseas, as people get older, it might be physically challenging or impossible. And don’t forget this also affects our members of the military and their voting family members who live with them overseas. I am not seeing enough of this point being covered. The focus seems to be on how it affects women negatively, which of course it does. But this issue of how it affects over 3 million US citizens living overseas is not stressed enough. And certainly should be stressed with your Republican colleagues who seem to care supposedly about the military while the military tends to vote Republican overseas private citizens tend to vote Democrat.
