I am extremely alarmed about the national guard being called to LA due to lawful protests. ICE has been kidnapping people off the street, from their offices, even from elementary school graduation ceremonies. The protests are not only lawful, but a moral response to that. Law enforcement is escalating the situation as usual, and bringing in the national guard makes it even more likely to become deadly. I urge you to use anything in your power to deescalate the violence and address the core issue, which is illegal and unethical ICE raids.
