Reject Any Attempt to Violate the 22nd Amendment

To: Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis, Rep. Maloy

From: A constituent in Salt Lake City, UT

March 23

You must publicly oppose any attempt by President Trump to run for a third term in 2028. The 22nd Amendment is clear: no one can be elected president more than twice. This isn't a matter of interpretation or loopholes. Trump is now selling "Trump 2028" merchandise and telling reporters he would "love" a third term. This is a direct threat to constitutional order. Eighty percent of Americans oppose this idea, including majorities across party lines. Even constitutional experts like Wayne Unger from Quinnipiac University confirm there is no legal path forward, and the Supreme Court would reject any challenge. The 22nd Amendment was ratified in 1951 specifically to prevent presidents from accumulating unchecked power. It requires two-thirds of Congress and 38 states to change. With Republicans holding only 219-213 in the House, 53-47 in the Senate, and 28 state legislatures, the math doesn't exist. Your silence on this issue will be interpreted as complicity. Make a clear public statement now that you will not support any legislative, judicial, or constitutional effort to enable a third Trump term. The Constitution is not negotiable.
