I’m writing as a constituent to express my strong opposition to H.R. 1526, which seeks to limit the ability of district courts to issue nationwide injunctions against executive branch actions. This bill undermines the checks and balances fundamental to our democracy.
The judiciary must remain an effective, independent check on executive overreach. Curtailing the courts’ ability to issue appropriate injunctions weakens the constitutional safeguards meant to protect citizens from unlawful or harmful federal actions. This bill sets a dangerous precedent by shielding the executive branch from meaningful accountability.
I urge you to publicly oppose this bill and any similar efforts that threaten judicial independence and the balance of power established by our Constitution. Our government functions best when all three branches remain co-equal and empowered to protect the rights of the people.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
