There are far more important things I’ve written you about but this seemingly small thing is a symptom of the sickness of US systems. Why do I have to pay an $8 processing fee to dmachoice.org to keep MY information from being taken and sold to advertisers? This is a scam. I am not making any profit off my own information being sold to companies across the USA but I have to pay the company selling my information to stop selling it? And they’ve set themselves up as an “organization” for this purpose? I have signed up for every do not mail & do not call list but still get junk mail and spam calls. I no longer share my address with groups, to include DNC/political groups, because doing so negates my efforts to not be direct mail spammed whenever I do. All this but my information still gets out there and sold without my consent or personal financial benefit. It is just one more example how all of my elected officials, regardless of party, are beholden to corporate profits and objectives. It’s more evidence that I, as a citizen and voter, do NOT matter to the politicians who should be reigning in the endless ways people are exploited in the USA. Add to your list of things you’ll ignore that every time I get junk mail, despite doing all the right things, that I am aware you have allowed my information to be sold without my consent or personal profit. All while you allow corporations to make money off me and run this nation into the ground.
