It’s your job to fight for Missourians.

November 5
Stand up to the Trump administration and demand the legally required release of SNAP contingency reserves along with transference of other available funds to cover SNAP benefits in November. During the 2018-2019 government shutdown in the first Trump administration, SNAP continued to be funded, and there’s no reason why that should be different now.
🚨More than 40 million people could go hungry if something isn’t done immediately. Emergency food pantries and food banks, despite heroic efforts to meet need, are already at the breaking point. For every one meal they provide, SNAP provides nine. Emergency food providers cannot replace SNAP. And this will harm our local economies; on average, 12 percent of retail food sales are paid by SNAP; in some rural and low-income communities, the percentage is far higher.
Stand up for vulnerable people and demand the Trump administration release $5 billion in SNAP contingency reserves and transfer other funds as needed to distribute SNAP benefits for November and keep vulnerable Missourians from going hungry.
