Dear Senator,
I urge you to refuse to vote for any appropriations bill for the Department of Homeland Security that fails to rein in ICE and Border Patrol and protect our communities.
Across Idaho, your constituents are protesting the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minnesota (https://www.eastidahonews.com/2026/01/this-isnt-normal-thats-what-scares-me-locals-gather-to-mourn-those-killed-by-federal-officers/). There is outrage over local ICE activities and the unacceptable fear they produce for citizens and noncitizens alike.
As your constituent I urge you to refuse to vote for any DHS appropriations bill unless it strengthens restrictions on ICE and Border Patrol activities. Every Member of Congress must insist on real limits and accountability before any funding is approved. I hope to see you standing up for the safety, dignity, and rights of all people in our communities.
Thank you,
