Sponsoring HR 8061 - Thank you!!

To: Rep. Turner

From: A verified voter in Cedarville, OH

September 10

I am a constituent in your district and I am writing to THANK YOU for signing on as a cosponsor to H.R. 8061, the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act. Your support directly impacts myself and my community. As you are well aware, we are facing devastating cuts to the Victims of Crime Act’s grants. VOCA is funded by the Crime Victims Fund (CVF) and is the nation’s largest funding source that supports survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, child sexual abuse, and so many other crimes. This timely legislation will help restore the CVF by passing excess funds from the False Claims Act and other sources to ensure that vital victim services are preserved. Introduced by Representative Ann Wagner, a Republican from Missouri, H.R. 8061 addresses funding shortfalls through Fiscal Year 2029 while retaining the Fund’s original intent of being financed by legal fines and not fees - not American’s tax dollars. More importantly this legislation will give victim assistance programs the support necessary to keep their operations running. On behalf of my community, I thank you for cosponsoring the bill and urging your other colleagues to sign-on as a cosponsors so we can pass H.R. 8061 this year.
