Congress should act swiftly to restore checks and balances and limit unchecked power in the presidency and judiciary. Implementing term limits for Supreme Court justices would help counter the current precedent of lifetime appointments insulating the Court from democratic accountability. Expanding the Court's size would also dilute the disproportionate influence of any single justice. Furthermore, a robust judicial code of ethics is urgently needed to uphold the integrity of the third branch of government. These measures are vital for preserving the separation of powers and preventing further consolidation of authority that undermines our democratic system.
