On Tuesday, the House voted to approve a budget that would cut $2 trillion from federal programs including Medicaid and SNAP. These programs provide medical care and food assistance for people who need it most. This is personal for so many millions of real people: families, friends, neighbors, coworkers. People with disabilities deserve our support! Underserved people also deserve community support. Access to proper nutrition should be a right not a privilege that billionaires get to slash because they feel like it. Without Medicaid and SNAP, access to critical medical care and supports to be a part of our communities, is gone. Many of us are just one major medical crisis away from bankruptcy. Please intervene and stop the passing of H.Con.Res.14. Billionaires don’t need more money through tax cuts. Everybody should have access to Medicaid and SNAP as needed.
Thank you for your consideration for protecting democracy and all the safety net programs that have made America wealthy in terms of commitment to humanity, not just wealthy people.
