I'm writing on behalf of the American citizens on the Global Sumud Flotilla, a multi-national mission carrying aid into Gaza. It appears the boats have been illegally intercepted by the IDF on international waters. International law protects peaceful citizens at sea and it is the duty of the U.S. government to protect Americans abroad from detention by foreign governments. I'm asking the Congressmember to demand the State Department intervene. Also, since Israel continues to break U.S. and international law through the targeting of civilian populations in Gaza, I want the Congressmember to join in signing the Block the Bombs act. There is no moral universe in which we keep sending them bombs to massacre children.
