If the rescissions bill passes the Senate, that move will further signal to the executive branch that Congress is comfortable abdicating Congressional power and authority, vested in that body by the Constitution of the United States, to the Executive Branch. That power will not be easy to regain during this administration or beyond. The balance of power in this country that has helped to keep us a democratic nation will be further disrupted, and the potential for a successful authoritarian coup will increase. That coup may already be happening; many of us believe it is. Protect us, protect the Constitution, assert your rights as a governing body! If you don't--if Congress continues to let the executive usurp power over lawmaking and the purse and anything else it wants--Congress will become a puppet gallery and the American people will no longer have a voice in their government. Block the rescissions bill, and stand up against further power grabs!
