An Open Letter

To: Gov. Braun, Rep. Garcia Wilburn, Sen. Walker

From: A constituent in Fishers, IN

December 8

Subject: Please Oppose Any Attempt to Redistrict Indiana I’m writing as a constituent to urge you to oppose any effort to redistrict Indiana at this time. Redistricting outside the regular census cycle undermines trust, weakens representation, and gives the appearance — if not the reality — of manipulating district lines for political advantage. Indiana’s districts are not 100% reflective of the people they represent as it is. Redrawing them now, without a clear, nonpartisan mandate, would only amplify that problem. Voters should choose their representatives — not the other way around. Any mid-cycle redistricting inevitably looks like an attempt to “game the system,” and Hoosiers deserve better than that. Please stand for fairness, transparency, and genuine representation. Say no to any proposal to alter district maps before the next census-driven redistricting process. Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your service to our state.
