For over a century, our national parks have been revered as America's natural treasures, safeguarding unparalleled landscapes, wildlife habitats, and cultural sites. However, recent actions by the administration pose an alarming threat to the integrity of these cherished lands. Staff reductions, closed facilities, and plans to open protected areas to mining and drilling endanger the very purpose of our National Park System. We cannot let short-sighted policies dismantle the legacy of conservation our predecessors fought so hard to establish. Our parks are a testament to our commitment to preserving the nation's natural and historical wonders for future generations. They fuel local economies, offer recreational opportunities, and provide a sanctuary for scientific research and education. The American people have expressed widespread outrage at these destructive measures, rallying in cities across the country to defend our parks. As a nation, we must unite to protect these irreplaceable public lands from exploitation and degradation. I urge you to listen to the voices of your constituents and take decisive action to safeguard our national parks and forests for generations to come. The Parks Service should be empowered, not undermined, to uphold its vital mission.
