Safeguard electoral integrity, oppose federal overreach on voter data
To: Dir. Hobbs
From: A verified voter in Kirkland, WA
July 16
The Trump administration's reported efforts to gain access to sensitive voter data and election equipment are deeply concerning and threaten the integrity of our democratic process. Requesting voter rolls, seeking to physically inspect voting machines, and attempting to shift powers over elections away from states are alarming overreaches of federal authority. Such actions could enable voter suppression and undermine public trust in our elections. We must safeguard the autonomy and security of state-run elections as enshrined in the Constitution. Allowing any administration unfettered access to voter information or direct control over election systems would set a dangerous precedent ripe for abuse and partisan manipulation. Election officials across the political spectrum have rightly raised alarms about these threats to free and fair elections. I urge you to take a strong stance against any federal overreach that compromises electoral processes and voter privacy. Protect states' constitutional rights to administer elections independently and transparently. Uphold the will of the people by preserving our sacred right to vote without interference or intimidation. The foundations of our democracy depend on resolute defense of election integrity.
