The bill defines "sex" based solely on reproductive biology and genetics at birth, disregarding the complexities of gender identity. Such legislation undermines inclusivity and respect for transgender and non-binary individuals in the workplace. It dismisses their right to self-identification and creates an unwelcoming environment. This bill perpetuates discrimination and marginalization of an already vulnerable community. Promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce should be a priority. Allowing individuals to be addressed by their preferred pronouns and names is a small but meaningful step towards creating a safe and respectful environment for all employees, regardless of gender identity or expression. This bill moves in the opposite direction by codifying discriminatory practices. I urge you to oppose this bill and instead support measures that foster inclusivity, protect the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals, and promote equality in the workplace and society as a whole. Discrimination has no place in a just and equitable system.
