The proposal to purchase Greenland from Denmark was both impractical and insulting, displaying an alarming lack of understanding about national sovereignty. According to reports, President Trump expressed interest in buying Greenland and potentially renaming it "Red, White and Blueland." Greenland is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, not a mere real estate acquisition. No amount of money could compel an unwilling sale that would undermine Greenland's right to self-governance. This effort to secure Greenland through a transactional land deal was met with firm rejection by both Greenland and Denmark. We need to oppose this bill to save America from further embarrassment and to protect our relationship with Denmark.
