I am writing as a constituent to urge you to support defunding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and reallocating those funds toward humane, effective, and accountable immigration solutions. ICE has repeatedly demonstrated serious failures related to civil liberties, due process, detention conditions, and transparency, while receiving billions in taxpayer funding with limited oversight. These practices harm families, undermine public trust, and do not make our communities safer. I ask that you support legislation to defund ICE and instead invest in community-based case management, legal representation, and immigration policies that prioritize due process, family unity, and public safety.
