An Open Letter

To: Sen. Warner, Sen. Kaine

From: A verified voter in Vienna, VA

July 22

I am greatly in favor of the Prohibit Partisan Park Passes Act. It amends Section 805(a)(2) of the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (16 U.S.C. 6804(a)(2)). The bill specifies that the image used on the "America the Beautiful" pass—whether physical or digital— "may not include a living current or former elected official or other living political figure." I urge both Virginia Senators to sign on as co-sponsors of this bill. Having Trump's vile face on park passes is repugnant. He has never shown any interest in our national parks other than to divert their funds to his own vanity projects and politicize their historical signage.
