President Trump settled his $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS on today in exchange for a $1.776 billion fund to compensate those who claim they were targets of government "weaponization." This fund creates an unprecedented, taxpayer-backed mechanism to compensate people who claim they were wrongfully targeted, potentially including Jan. 6 defendants. This is UNACCEPTABLE and you must immediate do everything in your power to stop this! January 6th rioters were convicted of criminal wrongdoing and sedition against the United States Government! They attempted to overthrow a free and fair election! They battered police officers, resulting in some deaths and permanent injuries! This happened because the Republican Party allowed the idea of a stolen election rhetoric to be repeated over and over by their own party, despite knowing it was untrue. This put Congress in immediate danger, including Republicans who encouraged the rioters and later defended them. It was bad enough that Trump pardoned these rioters, who were convicted by juries of their peers. Now he is claiming they have been victimized to a level that they deserve monetary compensation from taxpayer funded money! This is shameful, infuriating, a waste of hard earned resource, and will only serve to encourage similar actions in the future. We can't afford investments in science, healthcare, food security, education, affordable, housing, etc., but we are now being forced to fund domestic terrorists.
