Vote no on the SAVE act.

To: Rep. Knott

From: A constituent in Youngsville, NC

April 9

I urge you to vote no on H.R. 22, the SAVE Act. This bill targets troops, spouses, women, and the elderly, and will disenfranchise thousands of law-abiding, legal citizens. It will suppress voter registration and participation, and as one of those who stands to be affected - a married woman and legal citizen - I resent the extra steps required to show I am a citizen and legally able to vote. Two million Americans don’t have access to the documents this bill would require, nor can they afford a passport. This bill isn’t about ensuring legal elections; it is about silencing voters, and it is unconstitutional. America has struggled and fought to expand the right to vote to all men and women, people of color, the poor, and the underserved - all citizens. This bill won’t solve the fabricated issue of voter fraud. PLEASE do the right thing and vote no. Do what your NC constituents voted you in office to do.
