Preserve environmental standards, protect national forests from logging expansion

I urge you to reconsider the president's directive to increase logging in national forests and public lands. This move threatens to undermine long-standing environmental protections and devastate vital ecosystems. Expanding timber production by circumventing endangered species safeguards and other regulations would cause irreversible damage. Our national forests are precious natural resources that provide habitats for wildlife, clean air and water, carbon sequestration to combat climate change, and unparalleled recreational opportunities for all Americans. Prioritizing short-term resource extraction over conservation puts these invaluable assets at risk. I respectfully request that you uphold strong environmental standards and safeguard our public lands for future generations. Protecting our national forests should be a priority.
