Prioritize evidence-based transgender youth healthcare, oppose discriminatory bill

Bill HB3328, the "Protecting Children From Experimentation Act of 2023," seeks to prohibit gender-affirming treatments for transgender youth. It bans health care professionals from providing puberty blockers, hormone therapy, surgeries, or referrals related to gender transitions for minors. While framed as protecting children, this law contradicts medical consensus that such care improves mental health outcomes for trans youth. It also permits non-consensual surgeries on intersex infants. This discriminatory legislation undermines established standards of care and prevents access to vital services for an already vulnerable population. Medical decisions should prioritize patient well-being based on evidence, not government overreach.
