Support Reasonable Minimum Wage Increase for Economic Security

To: Gov. Youngkin

From: A constituent in Alexandria, VA

February 27

I respectfully urge you to sign HB1928 and increase the state minimum wage. This bill proposes a gradual, multi-year increase to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour by January 1, 2027. This measured approach gives employers time to adapt while providing a much-needed raise for low-wage workers who struggle with the rising cost of living. A higher minimum wage will lift many families out of poverty, reduce reliance on public assistance, and stimulate local economies as workers have more money to spend. By approving this reasonable minimum wage increase, we can improve economic security and quality of life for all Virginians. I encourage you to sign HB1928 into law to move our state in a more equitable direction.
