Support Immediate Action to Stop Trump's Threats Against Iran

To: Sen. Tillis, Sen. Budd, Rep. Adams

From: A constituent in Charlotte, NC

April 7

I need you to take immediate action to stop President Trump from carrying out his threat to destroy "a whole civilization" in Iran by his 8 p.m. deadline tonight. This goes beyond reckless foreign policy. According to Kenneth Roth, former executive director of Human Rights Watch, Trump is openly threatening to commit a war crime by targeting the Iranian people rather than military assets, which violates the Fourth Geneva Convention. Trump's escalating rhetoric has been extreme. He threatened to bomb Iran's bridges and power plants, saying "every bridge in Iran will be decimated by 12 o'clock tomorrow night." He called the Iranian government "crazy bastards" and threatened to bomb them into the "Stone Ages." His latest post stating "a whole civilization will die tonight" crosses every line of acceptable conduct for a president. Support any measure available to prevent this catastrophe, whether that means voting for impeachment, invoking the 25th Amendment, or using emergency legislative powers to constrain the president's ability to wage unauthorized war. Even Marjorie Taylor Greene has called for his removal under the 25th Amendment. This is not partisan politics. This is about preventing mass civilian casualties and war crimes committed in our name.
