BBB - Remove the Provision Allowing the Executive to Ignore Court Orders

To: Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis, Rep. Owens

From: A verified voter in Salt Lake City, UT

June 16

I am writing to express my strong opposition to any provision—whether current or proposed—that would allow the President or the executive branch to ignore court orders. Not only is such a provision blatantly unconstitutional and an affront to the foundational principle of checks and balances, but it also has absolutely no place in a budget or appropriations bill. Embedding a measure that would permit the executive branch to defy the judiciary is not just irresponsible—it is dangerous. If Congress allows this to stand, you are effectively endorsing a system where the rule of law is optional for those in power. That is not democracy. That is authoritarianism. I urge you in the strongest possible terms to ensure this provision is removed immediately. Upholding the Constitution should never be a partisan issue.
