Reverse the Mail Voting Stay — Protect Election Integrity Now

To: Justices Court

From: A constituent in Willoughby, OH

August 24

Reverse the stay on the lower court's ruling blocking Trump's mail-in voting executive order. This order is unconstitutional on its face. Article I, Section 4 of the Constitution gives power over federal election rules to state legislatures and Congress — not the President. U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani said exactly that in her June ruling, and she was right. Trump himself voted by mail this year. The noncitizen voting problem he claims to be solving has been found by researchers to be infinitesimally rare. This order isn't about election security. It's about restricting ballot access weeks before midterm absentee voting begins in multiple states. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson put it plainly: this ruling "needlessly injects chaos and uncertainty into the upcoming midterm elections." She's right too. The three dissenting justices understood what's at stake. Pausing this ruling while offering no explanation of when states may legitimately challenge unconstitutional election interference is not judicial restraint — it's abdication. Reconsider this stay and let the lower court rulings stand. Eligible voters should not lose access to mail ballots because this Court declined to act.
