Uphold strict scrutiny
To: Justices Court
From: A constituent in Hinesville, GA
May 9
I'm writing today to ask you again to uphold strict scrutiny for age verification laws. Though well-intentioned, age verification laws have failed numerous times in the fledgling days of the Internet. In fact it was because of their ineffective nature that they have fizzled out until recently. Overturning precedent for the sake of reviving insecure AV software systems in the light of recent developments will only create havens for hackers, scammers and rogue overseas pirate sites that don't have regulations. In fact it may steer traffic to those very sites rather than decrease it. Protect the First Amendment. Uphold precedent.
