Daylight Saving Time vs Standard Time

I have heard about the recent passage of a permanent Daylight Saving Time bill in the House. I'm writing today to request that you voice support for such a bill ONLY if the bill supports permanent STANDARD time, rather than saving time. If DST were made permanent, sunset in Salt Lake City would be as early as 4 p.m. in the winter. On the other hand, if standard time were made permanent (similar to Arizona), sunset would still be after 8 p.m. in the summer, which is plenty of evening daylight. Please take this into consideration when debating this issue. Thank you for your time.
