Six Virginia hospitals are likely to close due to proposed Medicaid cuts, including Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill (which is in your district). At least 23 nursing homes in VA-05 are also likely to close due to Medicaid cuts. Based on your previous responses to my letters, I sincerely doubt that you have read the 960 page proposed bill, and have little confidence you will read whatever is passed by the senate if they ever get that far. The bill DOES NOT stipulate that only fraud will be cut, or that only Medicaid for illegal aliens will be cut. Benefits for US citizens will be cut. People will die. Hospitals will close. Health care costs for your constituents will go up. Please know that your constituents WILL be affected by this bill, and your yes vote makes you complicit. If you vote for these cuts and this increase to our deficit (which seems to go against your values), we can beat a 7 point margin to replace you in 2026.
