In the face of anti-federalist defunding of services throughout the country by the current federal administration, the only logical response is to increase services on the state level. I urge you to look at other means of increasing revenue, including a state income tax, which I realize will require significant political will. I also ask you to work with your federal Senate and House colleagues to propose that state taxes be deducted from federal income tax. If the federal government reduces services in Washington State, then our federal income tax burden should be similarly reduced in order to appropriately fund state services that needed to offset this loss.
