Your Oath Requires Action
To: Sen. Sullivan
From: A verified voter in Anchorage, AK
January 28
I am an Alaskan constituent, and I want to begin by acknowledging your service in the United States Marine Corps. You took an oath to defend the Constitution against all threats, foreign and domestic.
That oath is being tested right now.
President Trump is openly undermining NATO, attacking democratic allies, and concentrating power in ways that mirror classic fascist regimes. This is not normal politics. It is a dangerous slide toward dictatorship. Weakening NATO emboldens authoritarians, destabilizes the world, and puts American service members at greater risk. As a Marine, you know this.
I am asking how you can stand by in silence while the President dismantles alliances that generations of Americans fought and died to protect. Respect for allies, democratic norms, and the rule of law is not optional. It is foundational to our national security and our democracy.
Alaskans expect courage from leaders who understand service and sacrifice. I urge you to speak out, draw clear lines, and actively oppose this authoritarian trajectory before more damage is done.
History will remember who defended democracy when it was under threat.
