I stand in solidarity with farm workers who continue to face potentially deadly working conditions. Up to 2,000 U.S. workers die from heat stress (https://labornotes.org/2026/08/will-republicans-congress-torch-oshas-heat-standard) every year. Strong, enforceable standards save lives (https://groundworkcollaborative.org/work/extreme-heat-is-killing-americas-workers/). In 2024, OSHA proposed the nation’s first heat safety standard. But now the administration is pushing the ironically misnamed Heat Workforce Standards Act (H.R. 6213 (https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/119/hr6213)). Please reject this dangerous bill that would prohibit OSHA from creating or enforcing any national heat safety regulations.
