Stop HR 1526

To: Sen. Corderman, Del. Schindler, Gov. Moore

From: A constituent in Hagerstown, MD

April 17

I’m writing to urge you to publicly oppose H.R. 1526, which just passed the U.S. House. This bill is a direct threat to judicial independence and to the ability of courts to protect citizens from harmful or unconstitutional federal policies. Stripping district courts of the power to issue nationwide injunctions doesn’t promote justice—it undermines it. It weakens the judiciary’s ability to serve as a meaningful check on executive overreach and puts communities across the country at risk by forcing individuals to challenge dangerous policies one case at a time. I’m asking you to use your platform and leadership to speak out against this legislation. As governor, your voice matters—especially to senators and fellow governors who may be on the fence. Please encourage others to reject this bill and stand up for the role of the courts in safeguarding our rights. We are in a moment where silence enables erosion. Please don’t stay silent.
