Invoke the 25th Amendment. What happened this Labor Day weekend was not trolling, not theater, not Trump being Trump. The President of the United States spent days posting AI fantasies of nuclear mushroom clouds, territorial conquest of Canada and Iran, and images of himself as a dark lord commanding an army. This is not the behavior of someone capable of governing a nation.
The real-world costs are not abstract. Gas hit $4.10 a gallon this Labor Day, up from $3.16 last year. Trump's approval on the economy is 41 points underwater, according to CNN pollster Harry Enten — a 61-point swing since 2024. His Energy Secretary admitted there may never be a nuclear deal with Iran. And while families absorb all of this, Trump is posting AI images of himself beating foreign leaders at hockey and renaming states "New America."
Representative Chellie Pingree was right: Congress, the Cabinet, and everyone around him has a responsibility to stop enabling this and ask whether he is fit to hold office. That question has an answer. Use the constitutional tools you have.
