Why are we paying to eliminate the development of offshore wind farms? At a time when energy is becoming increasingly expensive, it is incredibly short-sighted for the government to pay to cancel these lease agreements. The increased emphasis on coal - a filthy, air polluting form of energy proven to cause health issues and increase climate warming - is just stupid. I can't think of another country who is deliberately making such idiotic choices. All forms of energy need to be in the mix, with an emphasis on those that cause the least harm.
