The U.S. must not be dragged into another unnecessary and illegal war—especially one instigated by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. If reports are true that the U.S. bombed sites in Iran, it is a reckless and dangerous act, and Congress must act swiftly to prevent further escalation.
We do not want a war with Iran. We have no quarrel with them, and we reject the idea of fighting on behalf of other nations. The American people are tired of endless wars, and even more so of footing the bill—especially as Congress considers slashing vital social programs at home.
How is there always money for war, but never for healthcare, education, or basic support for working families?
These are moments that demand competence, courage, and leadership. Unfortunately, the current administration is filled with appointees chosen for loyalty rather than merit. We rely now on you—and on dedicated career public servants—to act with wisdom and restraint.
There is no path to victory in another Middle East war, especially not without boots on the ground—a deeply immoral and unacceptable option. The American people do not support this path. The risks are too high, the leadership too unstable, and the consequences too grave.
Please, do everything in your power to prevent further military action and ensure that diplomacy—not destruction—guides our foreign policy.
Thank you for your service in these critical times.
