Republicans previously pledged they would not pursue a federal abortion ban, making this legislation a clear reversal of their stated position. Furthermore, abortion is a vital component of comprehensive healthcare. Numerous major medical organizations recognize access to safe, legal abortion as an essential part of women's healthcare. Implementing a nationwide abortion ban would endanger the health and wellbeing of countless individuals by criminalizing a legitimate medical procedure. Such an extreme measure undermines personal freedoms and goes against established legal precedent. For these reasons, I urge you to oppose H.R. 722 and uphold the fundamental rights of all Americans to make personal healthcare decisions without government overreach.
