Removing abortion health-case access for rape or incest victims

To: Gov. Morrisey, Del. Cannon, Sen. Tarr, Sen. Grady

From: A constituent in Hurricane, WV

February 18

I am writing to express my profound concern and strong opposition to any legislative efforts aimed at removing abortion access for victims of rape and incest. Such a move is not only deeply inhumane but also disregards the fundamental rights and well-being of some of the most vulnerable members of our society. Victims of rape and incest endure unimaginable trauma, and forcing them to carry a pregnancy resulting from such violence is a further violation of their bodily autonomy and mental health. It is imperative that we, as a society, provide compassionate and supportive options for these individuals, rather than subjecting them to additional suffering. Removing abortion access in these cases would not only be a grave injustice but also a dangerous precedent that undermines the principles of empathy and justice that our community should uphold. I urge you to consider the profound implications of such legislation and to stand against any measures that would strip away the rights and dignity of survivors of rape and incest. I implore you to protect the rights of all individuals to make decisions about their own bodies, especially those who have already been subjected to such horrific acts. Please take a stand for compassion, justice, and human rights by opposing any efforts to restrict abortion access for victims of rape and incest. Thank you for your attention to this critical matter. I look forward to your response and hope that you will act in the best interests of your constituents.
