INDEPENDENT VOTER Why does it matter? The Supreme Court ruling allowing the ballroom project to move forward is hugely consequential, and Trump knows it. Why? The Justices have now ruled the President can do whatever he wants, spend taxpayer dollar however he wants without any oversight from other government agencies or Congress. Basically, Trump knows if he moves fast enough ahead of the court system than nobody can stop him. The problem is what goes around comes around and Republicans are about to loose several elections. That means the next President can tear it down by Executive Order. Personally, I hope that is exactly what happens. And that will be just the beginning. Trump won the battle but Republicans have lost the war. This project is a beacon of out of control spending at a time when Americans are hurting. This will translate to even more Democratic votes and/or Republican no-shows. The entire country is over Trump. Everybody but Congress.
