Please oppose HR 10186. It is a virulently transphobic bill that was introduced to make trans people feel unsafe and attacked. The very title is scaremongering and promotes hateful stereotypes and beliefs about trans people. It also encourages federal overreach and violation of privacy in indirectly codifying the accepted levels of appropriate femininity. Rep. Mace's lack of concern about this reveals her true intentions. Its sole purpose is to intimidate and harm a minority of people who already face hate and oppression. There is better use of the government's time than entertaining this unfounded hate. As a member of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, I ask that you perform your duties and stop this hateful bill from passing.
