The abrupt halt of the program, occurring shortly after FCC Chair Brendan Carr issued warnings to television stations and affiliates, followed by immediate removal by Nexstar and Sinclair Broadcasting Group, raises serious questions about the potential suppression of free speech. Given that both Disney (ABC) and Nexstar/Sinclair have pending business before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), these events appear to suggest a potentially coordinated effort to stifle protected expression. FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez has publicly indicated that Chair Carr’s actions likely constitute a violation of both the First Amendment and the Communications Act. To ensure transparency and protect fundamental constitutional rights, I respectfully urge you to champion an investigation into this matter. Specifically, I believe it’s imperative to demand a subpoena for Chair Brendan Carr, as well as the Chief Executive Officers of Disney, Nexstar, and Sinclair Broadcasting Group, to thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding this situation and ensure accountability.
