Please oppose defunding IMLS. Library funding is necessary and helps adults and children with anything from early literacy and education to job training. Maintain funding of IMLS! I’ve worked as a professional librarian for 12 years. I’ve seen countless patrons use library resources to lift themselves up and get jobs and or housing therefore coming off of government aid. I’ve helped children learn to read and learn about their community. We are a safe and welcoming space for vetted information for all sides.
