High-quality, Life-Affirming Medical Care for Women of All Ages
Dear Representatives,
I am writing to express my strong opposition to House Resolution 7 (H.Res.7), titled "Recognizing the Importance of Access to Comprehensive, High-Quality, Life-Affirming Medical Care for Women of All Ages."
While the resolution’s title suggests support for women’s health, I am concerned that its language and underlying implications may undermine comprehensive reproductive healthcare.
The term "life-affirming" is often associated with efforts to restrict access to abortion and other reproductive services. By emphasizing this term, H.Res.7 may implicitly support limiting women’s autonomy over their healthcare decisions.
Furthermore, the resolution states that "health care for women should also address the needs of men, families, and communities as they relate to women's health care." This perspective risks prioritizing external factors over women's individual rights and specific health needs.
I urge you to oppose H.Res.7 and instead advocate for legislation that genuinely supports comprehensive, unbiased, and patient-centered healthcare for women. It is essential to uphold women’s autonomy and ensure access to the full spectrum of reproductive health services without imposing restrictive ideologies.
Thank you for considering my perspective. I trust you will act in the best interest of all constituents by rejecting measures that could compromise women’s health rights.
Sincerely,
A concerned North Dakota resident
