Another weekend of Republican cabinet members making the rounds of the Sunday morning political shows so they can openly lie to the American public about what they are doing and the disastrous effects their decisions and policies are having. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent actually said that the average American doesn’t pay any attention to what is happening to their savings and investments on a daily basis. He is seriously delusional if he really believes this, which I doubt. Who in their right mind would believe such an outlandish statement? That’s not what 5 million people were saying on Saturday. Now, the Republican administration is selling the lie that George Soros paid millions of dollars to the protesters on Saturday. What a ridiculous bald-faced lie. The sad part is the MAGA followers believe these lies, but the rest of us know this is just more deflection. We also now witness open warfare between Scott Bessent, Kevin Hassett, and Howard Lutnik. They can’t seem to get their stories straight and contradicted one another on Sunday morning. Then there’s Trump’s true and faithful soldier, Peter Navarro, who is also more than willing to pick a fight with anyone who doesn’t agree with his nutty ideas—this time, it’s Elon Musk. While we’re on the subject of Musk, he and Trump now don’t appear to be getting along very well concerning Europe and the tariff destruction in play. And the Republican House and Senate all allow this. Why? Because they are more afraid of the Republican administration than they are of their constituents. They are still more secure in believing their constituents will re-elect them than surviving a Trump attack. It’s pathetic. But, hey! Trump won another golf tournament over the weekend…..guess he couldn’t hear the “Hands Off!” chanting on the streets all across America while he was on the golf course. The Republican House and Senate continue to allow this destruction. Step up and do your constitutional duty, and start speaking out and taking action. The results of not doing so are in your hands. Your silence makes you complicit.
