Keep Lafayette Square open and public!

To: Sen. Tillis, Sen. Budd, Rep. Foushee

From: A verified voter in Durham, NC

October 9

New York Times recently investigated the president's plan to fence off the historic Lafayette Square. This area has been widely used for protests, vigils and celebrations. Being a public space, one used by the American people to exercise their rights, it is absolutely vulgar for our thin-skinned, narcissistic leader to keep us out. This is our country, our capital and our Constitution that he is trying to manipulate and trample and we should not keep allowing it to happen without recourse. I urge you, the US Congress, to take back your power of the purse and maintain your duty to keep the executive branch in check. Stop him from fencing off historical public areas!
